Stimac would have bothered me as player to manager at the same club rarely ends well. Smith, Neil and Carvahal didn't excite me. Moyes or Big Sam can't operate without big funds and McCarthy was a non starter in my book.

My first choice would have been Martin O'Neill but he was unlikely ever to have come.

That pretty much left Wassall (who we already have) and Lampard. I followed England home and away in the years Lampard was in his prime and he was one of the finest players of that generation. Of course that counts for nothing in the managerial stakes but then again how many pro's who have earned millions from playing bother with the aggro of being a manager these days. We've all sat and listened to the likes of Gary Neville and Danny Murphy and thought what good managers they would make due their knowledge and intellect of the game, well IMO Frank drops in to that category. He's an individual with incredible connections and if Jody Morris should join him which is looking highly likely we have have one of the most respected young coaches in English football and dare I say it the best understanding in the country of Chelsea's youth system and players. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we would benefit from this is it?

Karanka is a good manager to that I have no doubt, will we see an improved Forest, I think so and hope so, it's good for rivalry. However you still have to keep your better players which you are not very good at doing and bring in additional quality just to make a top half side. Remember it's a tough division.

Also in typical forest fashion you only come on here spouting between the end of May and end of September by which time your season is invariably done.

I would offer up my £50 who finishes above each other bet however the class among your lot resulted in non payment on the previous two occasions.

Back to topic and don't get carried away with Frank being a novice it might just come back to bite you on the proverbial.
Errm...I'm sorry but I think you're mistaking me for someone else.
I don't typically come here from May to September spouting anything of the sort.

In fact I was here for the whole hog. From late April last year to the end of this season.
And nary a word against Derby. In fact I actually extended my support for the whole season.

Only now at the end of the season, I've decided to return as an opposition for the time being.

Although I'll confess I do and will occasionally take the piss on Derby, in reality if you look at the majority of my postings about Derby over the years has generally been a positive one.
As I've said many times before, I live too far away to have any form of rivalry and because of the Clough/Taylor connection from years past, it's impossible for me to have any hatred for your club.

Wouldn’t want to start by immediately disagreeing with a new manager’s decision, mista...but I have to agree with you.

Oh c’mon Rom...I know it’s all just a bit of forum fun, but Manx has a point...you turned into a closet Derby fan as soon as Forest’s season was done early last season. Even the other Forest apologists were calling you a ‘turncoat’.

    My point exactly

Rom turned back the second we lost to Fulham and all league points went back to zero

If there is any mileage in these JT rumours, I won't be worrying too much about it.

    1. At his age he is more likely to be injured a lot and not be available
    2. He will be doing some coaching
    3. He plays the right sided CD role so it would be Keogh's place in a back 4 he would take
    4. In a back 3 he is likely to play the central role with Davies as the left sided DC..... hopefully with Wisdom on the left and Bogle at right wing back

Worse it's a 3 year deal. There's no way Lamps will be here 3 years.
To go from challenging seriously for promotion for say 4-5 seasons, logically one would think, lets give it 1 more shot. Appoint a proven manager like Big Sam and provide him with a reasonable budget.

I think your owner shot your chances before a ball has even been kicked.
Thanks for your concern but don't really think you should be more worried about Kranky his record since joining you ain't good Played 21 win 5. win rate 23.8% that's got relegation all over it

Wow MA...that’s the first time I’ve ever heard a fan say they’re not worried because ‘at his age he’s likely to be injured a lot’ and unavailable. Says it all imo, but let’s not jump the gun...I’m still waiting for Jody Morris and Jordan...no matter how much mista takes the wotsit.

but whatever his role, or non role due to wished for injury, he will still cost an absolute fortune, and I wonder if he would be worth it? Especially if Morris J is coming in too
