Cheers. I gave it a google, nae luck. There was mention of the match and disaster in a Glasgow council heritage site. No mention of the filth keeping their share as you'd expect.

It appears in ‘The Sons of the Rock: the Official History of Dumbarton Football Club’ by Jim McAllister. There’s a quote with it from a Rangers director saying something along the lines of ‘it’s alright for big clubs like Dumbarton to give money away but we can’t afford it’
