Thread: What a good read

This bit is basically closer to reality but has been replaced by some kind of adherence to another messiah type where acceptance of the football dished out seems to be the norm as some kind of fear factor of losing a so called world class name that somehow puts Newcastle United back on the footballing map.

Not in my book it doesn't but this piece is closer to the real bone in my honest opinion of being a Newcastle United fan for over 47 years.

“If Big Sam sent a team out to play like this he’d get hammered. This isn’t Newcastle. Toon fans I know would rather lose 5-4 than win 1-0 like this.”

Not just closer to reality but total reality. And only 47 years. Tut,tut.

    Brilliant read.

    Absolutely bang on.

Ghost, are you saying you'd rather lose in a high scoring game than win in a 1-0? I may have misunderstood you so just want to be sure.

I'd rather lose in a high scoring game than win 1-0 playing dire football on a regular basis.

Let's put this in a bit clearer picture.
If I thought we would win the league by being treated to football that consisted of us defending like nutters and nicking a 1-0 win by some scrounged means for the near entire season or be in the top 10 but having games that entertain with goals galore. I'd take the latter in a heartbeat.

I want to be entertained. I do not want to be watching football so dire that it bores me to tears to the point where I lose interest.

I'll make it even more clear.
If we won the league in the manner I said, most fans would take it for one season just because they've been starved of what they deem as real success.
I'd wager a mighty big bet that the numbers would dwindle by 90% if the very next season was to be exactly the same.

I do not believe this football can be defended. It's rotten.

So Ashleys mistake ridden time here is laid bare and all you want to do is deflect on to a manager with his hands tied

The CLUB is in complete disarray from top to bottom man

    Fan or WUM?

Only one answer to that If you dismiss the harm Ashley has inflicted

he isnt at war with the fans
    we are his customers

whrn people realise he is running abuisness as he sees it and not a football club maybe some will just move on

yes i suppose if he gambles he may make more money

but when it comes to buisness he doesnt gamble

he gambles with the money those buiness make him personnaly

the truth is untill anyone can tell me the person that buys the club will be any different to ash is the day i hope he sells

you have to admit though it isnt just keys saying footy under rafaf is negative

when a club like us is only getting on average 3 shotson target a game
surely his point we are too negative is right

so he has the worst prem record of any manger we have had
and now he is taking us to the worst possesion and shots on target of any prem club per game

now i dont think they are connected in any way
    do you

still as ash the gambler would say
    things wil turn soon

you wont win 1-0 on a regulat basis
however you do have more chance of loosing 5-6 nil playing as we are
    with out dubravka
the last few games could certainly have been that
    despite the score line
please dont get fooled by us only loosing 2-1 to the likes of spuds and city

we have never been in the games

we were never in the game at forest

we are just sparring partners for the other teams

A very good read with many valid points open for debate. Unfortunately turned into another Anti-Rafa thread best the mods close it again.
