    That team looks stronger than the current starting 11, even at their current ages and with some of them long dead. At least we would get a more honest performance. That starting 11 all in their prime would be something to watch.

    Wouldn't that be amazing, although I'm not sure about a 4-2-4 formation in this day and age, then again these days we're lucky if we see one player in midfield let alone 2!

    It is a fantastic team, but a bit like dross we have now, it lacks a ball winner. The first name on any Notts County all time XI should be David Hunt who was there all through our very best period (336 games and 28 goals).

    Good article that, but identifying the employment of Paul Hart as astute is a step too far for me.

    Good article - clearly spoke to fans who knew what they were talking about. Shame about the mistake - 1981 wasn’t the first time we were promoted to the top flight, even if we hadn’t been there since the 1920s.
