Let’s face it if you read MM regularly enough you’re going to be an expert on rubbish.

I was just going to compliment you on your knowledge of rubbish.

There is also braille on top of the bins...I feel sorry though for those who may be blind and have no fingertips

Why the hell should we copy other councils? Apart from the pink lids (I hope they’re not luminous) then I don’t see the problem .

Had to pay for brown bin, that’s why it’s been changed colour otherwise they’d have to collect all green bins that aren’t using the scheme, then send them another bin out for the card/paper.

    Saved money probably

BTW if you live in Rotherham you might notice that the paper and card bin and the glass/ tins and plastics bin get emptied at the same time and go in the same bin lorry.
I live in Hellaby though I don,t see why that should make any difference. My green bin is emptied tomorrow 8th. and then again 8th. march and so on every 4 weeks. My Black bin is to be emptied on the 22nd.,then 22nd. March and so on every 4 weeks -so not into the same lorry at the same time into the same lorry.
Now I,m going to lie down.

Just had my pink bin delivered. It won't be big enough. I nearly always had to stand in the bin to squash down the rubbish. I also make trips to the tip to get to recycle so nothing goes in the black bin that should not. Why did the council just not leave the black bin for what it's always been used for and the pink bin for plastic waste?. Rbc ****ers

What on Earth are people throwing away that is too much for that pink bin most of our waste used to be made up of plastics so the amount we chuck away should be massively reduced.

70% of our waste is recyclable so that pink bin should be more than big enough

Go live down East Dean. Anything goes in any bin and everything gets picked up weekly

    Clearly they are not recycling.
