Man City And The Four Trophies

Should actually read three given they have already won the League Cup .

    Is this really on ?

It would eclipse anything that's been done before in english football and you could make a solid case for worldwide football too .

One thing is certain if anyone can do it then it's City , they have the players , the strength in depth and a coach who is driven and hungry enough to drive the players on as well as a tactical genius .

Personally I can see them winning the three domestic trophies but just falling short in the champions league .

Juventus to claim the champions league for me and deny them .

The money aspect and the approach most clubs take in our domestic cups takes the shine off a bit for me. It would be an unparalleled achievement winning all four dont get me wrong but as you said Animal, the champions league is different gravy. Teams that enter that competition actually want to win the thing as opposed to our domestic cup competitions where city's reserves can easily make the final if truth be told.

I suppose it's the way football is that takes the shine off it a bit for me. Look at spurs for instance, dint give a toss about the league cup or fa cup. Give them the champions league and it's a different story altogether.

To be fair to City they seem to value every competition equally and make a genuine and solid attempt to win the lot .

I take the point they have a very good squad but so have Liverpool , Chelsea , Spurs , Arsenal and Man Utd .

In one of the early rounds of the League Cup away at Oxford they fielded an almost full side and did the same against Rotherham United in the FA cup .

The only game where you could seriously point the finger was the Burton League Cup semi final second leg and you could forgive them for that given they went in to the game 9-0 up .

I think City are the only club who absolutely respect every competition in the PL and the majority of the rest should hang their heads in shame .

I totally agree that City have taken it seriously. I was saying that it was the others (alluding to spurs in my previous post) that weren't thereby devaluing our domestic trophies
