Agreed that he has missed the englandshire boat but if Clarke turns down the sfa then I would fully expect McInnes to be next on the list and have a decision to make

As for the Scotland management job McInnes was never getting asked. It’s only for the SFA to kid on there were other pricier options. I would be surprised if it was Clarke as I think Gemmill was always the cheapest option.

You could be right but if it is Gemmill then why wait until less than 3 weeks before a crucial match to appoint someone already on the payroll that could have been planning for the match a month ago. Anyone would think the sfa lacks competence. Oh wait......
