No, I said "We should always strive and attempt to get silverware, but it is a fcuking hard thing to achieve, especially in our corrupt league."

    Or more "realistically" a trophy.

You can harp on about history and how many trophies we average but that has absolutely no relevance on here and now.
Regarding the last sentence, are you being serious or being deliberately obtuse. Football, more than ever, is about money. Other leagues have way, way, more money than the Scottish League. Celtic, and to a lesser extent, Rangers, have way more money than AFC. Yet your expectation is that we win the league next year.

You're probably right about history not being relevant. It was actually easier for AFC to win the league historically than it is now. And yet still we could only do it 4 times in 115 years.

What are you basing your 5 times in 116 years on? What makes you think it is a realistic expectation for AFC to win the league next year.

With two trophies in, what will be, 30 years, I think it's about time we added another. I know that some of the servile masses on here like to defend the club in any given situation but please f@ck off if you think that's a respectable trophy haul for one of Scotland's biggest clubs.

... And unrealistic expectations is what supporters should have, that's what makes the owners speculate and attempt to put a challenge in for silverware.

If all the fans were as subservient to the club as AFCMad1903, I reckon we would be relegated very quickly...

Barring a Leicester style miracle season, the only way winning the league becomes realistic for us is if we can sustain a level of performance over a period of years; law of averages. So we don't necessarily need to compete with Celtic season to season, we just need to sustain a level of performance for a sufficient period of time. i.e. if we are 10/1 to win the league for 10 seasons in a row, there is statistically a realistic chance that we will win the league once in those ten years.

Under McInnes we have been close to achieving the level of league performance required but we have simply lacked that extra bit of quality required to push on at the business end of the season. Our budget relative to Celtic shouldn't be used as an excuse but it is certainly the explanation.

Speculate for what? If we win the league it doesn't transform the financial situation of the club unless we quality for the Champions League, which is even less likely given the strength of the teams we would be facing in the qualifying rounds. It's easy to spend other folk's money. What we need is sustainable investment and growth. We might not like the way the club is being run or the stadium etc. but the financial position of the club has improved immeasurably in the last 5-6 years. It hasn't been ***y or exciting but ultimately it provides the base for any future success whether that's under the current manager or someone else.
