Openly recall speaking to Alex just after he’d received his straight red after the cheating two hat at Barnet conned the Ref. From the side I told him it would be okay but even I didn’t envisage how long he was kept out of the side.

We seem to lose our way and dropped points without him in the team. Suddenly he returns to the side, we pick up points and the rest is history.

We as Millers fans will always be biased to his spectacular superb goal at Wembley but I would ask any neutral fan to show us a better one.

Alex, thank you for your loyal service and your immense contribution to RUFC’s progression and the rewards you help the fans enjoy.

Most would say not a prolific goal scorer but find me a more hard working centre forward we’ve had over the last 10 years.

All the best to you and your family and whatever live holds for you. 👍👍

Good luck Revs remember the first game against Swindon with 2 goals what a start. Though I never spoke with him I've heard many people say what a nice lad he was. Half time at Wembley someone asked me what would I do, my answer was take Revs off, shows what I know. What a way to make me eat my words, best football day of my life.

At times he was outstanding and at others he was not but the one thing you could always say about Revs is that he would give you 100% effort and commitment for the badge every time he stepped on to the pitch.

Good luck with whatever you go in to next Revs you will always be remembered by myself and I am sure others as well, not only for that great goal at wembers but also for your shear determination to the best you could for Rotherham United while you were with us.

He has moved into a coaching role at Stevenage's academy.

    Best of luck Revs.

Steve Evans , who later fell out with Revs, said it best " Alex Revell has given me a moment that I will be thinking about on my deathbed"
