A game to be won by an innings of flair by Warner or Roy as the wicket deteriorates. No one will feel secure in the next two innings but an hour of high speed scoring from someone will make the difference.

What money on Head or Denley as leading wicket taker in respective second knocks?

All a bit ‘after the Lord mayor’s show’, initiative shifting...was hoping for a 75-100 run lead...looking more like 20-30 now and us batting last on a deteriorating pitch.
So there is up upper end of your 75 to 100

Good ‘wag’...would have taken that this time yesterday but not at 11.30 this morning.
Much may depend on how much, if at all, Anderson can bowl.

Hmmm...not going well is it? Be happy for the weather to intervene now and start afresh at Lords with a full bowling attack.
I like Moeen Ali but he seems to have lost his way...Rashid for Ali and Archer (if fit) or Curran for Anderson imo.

Even if we bowl them all out this session, its too late and I don't fancy us now. Best bet is to keep runs down and play for the draw

I thought the wicket must have gone to sleep gives the way the Aussies have batted on it? They will probably bat on to give us a notional 375 target and an hour plus 3 sessions to bat. If the wicket is sleeping (haven't seen any play today) then we ought to survive??? Or at least if we want to win the series we need to have the application to do it, rather than fail at the first opportunity

Agreed Parky...if they can score 487 on it, we should surely be able to bat out a possibly shortened day. Need to go to Lords all square.

I have zilch confidence we can bat it out, too many batters out of form!!
Our only hope is the weather!!
