Yeah, tomorrow's line up and approach will be telling. He himself has said we need to be doing more in the forward areas so the onus is on him to make that happen through the personnel, tactics and formation etc. Like you say, if he names that midfield trio again we're in for another borefest. If we're playing 2 sitting midfielders (which we most certainly will) the 4 non-defensive players should be relieved of defensive responsibilities and told to concentrate on attacking. We should be going out in games like these playing 442 that basically turns into a 424, not 4231 that basically ends up being 451.
Missed out the question - "if he didn't win the league cup would he be held in such high regard and would his celtic phobia be so widely accepted?"
Also failed to mention that we have been regressing for a long time, since the league got a bit tougher really.
But as Redscot says, its not just the management that are at fault, the board and a section of fans have buried their head in the sand because hes not McGhee

Luckily for us the other teams are even worse.
Dons will finish third. Dons will also win fairly handsomely tomorrow which will take the heat off Derek until the next mini crisis. It's a pit of despair we find ourselves in and I don't see us climbing out if it anytime soon.
Any manager who doesn’t send out his team to score goals has a problem and is only going to end up shooting them selves in the foot. Scoring goals are what football should be about, not this turgid rubbish of protecting defenders that we have witnessed for far too long in this country.
McInnes has been schooled by Craig Brown etc...he hasn’t been educated further because he refuses to try something different. McInnes is done...his ignorance of attacking play will be the end of him. Fans can only suffer turgid boring football if you sneak winning results...we don’t look like doing that now.
He's nae all bad. A lot of folk on here just don't like him as a person which is fine. First couple of seasons were exactly what we were needing, some decent results, some good football, back at the top end of the table and some decent showings in the Europa league. We were playing some excellent football against the likes of Groningen and Rijeka MKII. Granted a couple of cup finals/semis haven't been good enough but still a successful period.
He either needs to pull his finger all the way out or go somewhere else now though. His transfer dealings have been waiting to bite the club on the arse for a few seasons and seems to be catching up with us now. The hun job thing was an utter shambles and we have stalled in europe. Only good thing going for him at the moment is that it's early days in the season. Never has a game at home to Ross County had so much riding on it.
