If you were Milne, what objectives would you set him?

    - European qualification; a must
    - At least 1 semi final in cups every season? a must
    - A cup final every two years?
    - a cup win every 5 years?

I was going to put in one about entertaining football, but that's far too subjective, and to be honest, if the above were achieved, not many folk would care, least of all the useless c**t from Alford.

My take on McInnes is that I think he's grown stale at the club and has run out of ideas.
Change would probably be good for both him and the club?
However, he's going nowhere, and even if he did, I have zero trust in Milne appointing anyone who'd make things any better.
Milne would just appoint another SFA clone who'd bore us all (Derek Adams or the likes)
I would say a cup win every 5 years is fair enough but it clearly isn’t considering we have only won 1 cup since he has been the chairman.

The cup exits to lower league teams should be an instant dismissal too but he let them go on far too long.

That's down there though when everything rests on either top 4 or staying in the league due to the vast wealth. According to most, even zero change of winning the league or even challenging so I guess a cup, any cup is the pinnacle.

Incidentally, I heard that Oxford made 7 changes last night against West Ham and still won 4-0.

Spot on, can't really argue with any of that.

You can pinpoint all of this to summer 2017. Up till then, can't really complain and in fact leading up the that, a few 6 and 7 goal goalfests.

We'd just lost a good few decent players, and certain ones were coming to the end of their shelf lifes, and then came the Sunderland offer, and massive payrise, number one.

Nae doubt in my mind that's where it all started going downhill. And we then see a lower level of replacement player coming in, allied to other players who were never going to fit into his shape (May, Maynard, for example)

Then in November, came the Sevco intrusion, resulting in massive payrise, number two, which is where the whole thing starts to unravel.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but he really should have gone in summer 2017, with all of our blessings.

    I agree with you.
I was delighted he turned down SEVCO....but was that pleased we'd retained him, or more a "get if f*****g up you ya hun b@stards"?

With hindsight, getting £1m compensation and him going to them would've been great....because the huns wouldn't have improved under him either.
Or as you say, going to Sunderland

That's an opinion. I still think that's what he must be getting at.

And not get into Europe, really?

European games are the only real entertainment we get as Dons fans.

I'd settle for 10th if we won the league cup. Especially now.
