    Poor refs,players & clubs.

I’ve watch a lot of football this week & the standard of refereeing as been poor but I think players & clubs must take some responsibility. The mob attitude of players surrounding the refs must stop, the diving, the play acting like they have been poleaxed must stop.If they don’t agree with the referee only the captain should be allowed to speak to the referee.Too many players getting involved, running the full length of the pitch to argue with a player or the referees decision must stop.Yes some refs are poor but the mob attitude & play acting is spoiling the game.IMO only.

    Agree with you Lol.

I've criticised refs as much as anyone, especially this season, and even sometimes when we've won, but what I don't like is managers criticising them for 'game changing decisions' when they've just lost.

Every ref makes mistakes, and some far more than others. But every manager, and his players, make far more mistakes I would say.

    It's a game.

This has been going on for years and yet rugby has got it nailed.
It's not as though footy has got to reinvent the wheel

I've said before, use VAR to retrospectively punish this mob mentality amongst other things Once the rapid one match bans due to accumulation of yellows kicks in then it will stop.

Portsmouth players were appealing that Morris wasn't,t completely taken out. A ridiculous waste of everyone,s time when people have paid to watch a live game

The ref is allowed to card any player who surround him.
Maybe they need to brush up on the rules.

I’m also not surprised that players are getting more agitated with the officials.

The referee organisation needs to sort it out and also need to be open about the games they have just officiated instead of shutting the door imo

MT, you beat me to it. There is a law that states only the Captain can approach the Ref to discuss an incident. It only takes one Ref to book a player for dissent to set an example. Imagine the uproar that would follow, should an argumentative player be booked only to be his second yellow and subsequently dismissed.

I say so what, keep your trap shut, stop interfering with something that doesn’t concern you.

Examples need to be made to have full control of the game!

I've watched young Wiles get clobbered every game yet he generally just gets up and gets on with things. Other players being fouled in the same way are a bloody disgrace the way they carry on.

I honestly think that I’m dreaming the rules up sometimes with the lack of basics from certain officials

Officials these days are brick scared of losing their positions in their leagues, hence why they don’t get hold of the game and let the players know it’s not them in charge. I hate diving, cheating, injury feigning scum who ruin the game for the honest pro and fans who have come to watch a game of football.

I see one of the dirtiest cheating two hats has re entered the game at the age of 41...... Robbie Savage! Now that’s one player who deserved a proper seeing to. I believe he’s one the highest booked players of all time.
