It were same wi man utd years back. They were told by the FA that they couldn't field a youth team in the FA cup. They were also told to forfeit the FA cup in favour of going through to Brazil to laik in the world club championship to try and bolster our world cup bid which we all know was a total waste of time.

It sounds morbid but if you were the Liverpool hierarchy would you have sanctioned your whole first team travelling leaving behind only your under 23's? Especially given the time of year and temperatures effecting flight equipment.
