Edin. I would leave the town centre at 1.30 at the latest as although there are frequent buses they do go through some estates so it can take 45 mins or more. Ask the driver to let you know where the nearest stop to the footer ground is because they stop in another estate about 5 mins walk but the ground is not in view so you could end up back in town lol.
Alternatively have a chat to fellow passengers with Oxford colours on and they,ll help I'm sure.
Make sure you remember the walk back into the estate to the bus stop as it will be dark. As Mike says there are big queues. We actually queue jumped, after apologising to the Oxford fans, otherwise we would have missed our 6pm train. They were fine and understood our predicament.
A very friendly female Oxford fan helped me to get off at the correct stop for train stn
It was the 3-3 drawn game where we should have really won it after being 1-3 down and she was well miffed they threw away such a lead

Thanks for all this v useful info. Staying about a 30 min walk from ground so we will walk back to hotel before getting a taxi into town centre later. My son lives in Oxford so relying on him for best pubs. UTM!!

Be careful, Oxford has a high murder rate. There's at least one everytime I watch Morse.

Midsomer is the worst place for murders Jocks and often quite gruesome. Mind you it can be also bad in Albert Square particular at Xmas when the Mitchell bros are usually involved and still they are chuffin free to roam Landon the cockernee wonkers...

Ox fan here - should be a good game both teams going well should be a solid test for both, didn't think was much between us when we pinched 3 points few months back. Agree with most comments above parking ect isn't great so below might help:

Parking at stadium - If you are arriving best places to park are behind the fence end or behind home stand, avoid the 'overflow' car park as you'll be in there a good hour or so if you stay until the end.

Parking off site - Park in the estate 'Blackbird leys' only a 5 / 10 minute walk and easy access back to the A34.

Journey from Town - loads of great pubs in Oxford worth a visit if haven't before, taxis will cost under a tenner best ones to call are 001 taxis - 01865 240000. Or you can jump on a bus going to Blackbird leys and take a short walk.

    Enjoy the day!

Blackbird Leys, didn't know the ground was in the rough part of Oxford, cheaper to build there I suppose with the cost of land down there.
