I think that handled and coached correctly the lad has immense potential.
Whether or not we will be fortunate enough to see it is another matter.

What has happened to him this season?
Did we all get too excited by his performances at the back end of last season? Was he almost running on adrenalin and over-achieving because he was so excited to be starting for the team he supports?
I know he's being used differently but when he did play last season, his range of passing was the equal of Shelvey's at times but he tackled well, moved well and drove forward as well.
This thread is not meant to be an attack on Bruce and his coaches per se but, for me, he is going backwards and it's because he's being used wrongly and coached badly.
But, then, I rate him. What do others think? I know Mids and Pboro aren't fans.

I'm not the biggest fans of either
Don't think either have pulled on
I thought it hoped both were going to do good things
With both in the side we don't create
Would I sign them up ahead of shelvey and Ritchie /yes
It certainly is a strange one.At the end of last season i thought we had the future of our midfield in him and he seemed the complete midfielder.
I realise he had the injury which impeded his progress, however he has never shown that early. promise since.
When the likes of Man U were willing to buy him for multi millions then i thought we needed to keep him to build upon although now i think Man U might think they dodged a bullet.
I think he is a more complete player than Shelvey who for me is a 1 in 5 games player who can go missing at times but i am not sure he can recreate his form and potential under this coaching regime.
I think they both have potential but need proper coaching which they will not get if they stay here
Far better prospects than Shelvey and Ritchie and they’ve both been handed end of career three year contracts
dont rate either of them
i believe a lot of fans got excited as they were home grown
when you see lads of a comparable age at other clubs and those in germany holland etc etc etc i just cant and dont see how they could be much better if coached by the likes of klopp etc etc
average fizzy players at best even under a good coach
i see the big boys who got to see them for the first te have cooled on them
even under ra£a they werent being spotted by the big clubs
wouldnt mind if they both went
and good luck to them but we need better than these two thats for sure
Dont rate him at all when he starts he seems to vanish, his brother is a better player but still a lot to learn
I rate him.
Think he is a good player and could be a great one for us (not necessarily a great but just for us).
However, I think the coaching isn't helping him and I think the way he's being used doesn't work for him in the same way as last season.
However, i think Zip is also correct that he ran on adrenline of being in the starting team for his team.
