Thread: EPL Seriously?

  1. #1

    Question EPL Seriously?

    No plans.

    Prevarication.

    Perth?

Not that important in the great scheme of things?

    Discuss.

Last I read they were planning to play the season out behind closed doors on neutral grounds with the games shown live on TV, but the six clubs most likely to be relegated weren't happy that they'd lose their home games, didn't seem to occur to them that they wouldn't have to play away either and they're all in the same boat. Seems the best way out of it to me, so I expect that's what will happen.

But to be honest, although I like my football, I couldn't care less about the PL clubs and that includes Burnley.

Just saying like ......I really have not missed football at all these 2 months.

Football can only be as it was, matches played in England with home and away crowds.
Anything else is like a nail hammered in its coffin. Its just not the same and would slowly kill it,( harm it ! )
I would watch ,on t v or the internet but I would not enjoy it the same.

Doesn't matter what me or you like or want Balan does it, the PL wants the TV money, and they'll get their mitts on it one way or the other. To be fair to them they have to, a lot of them will go under if they don't, but personally I don't care if they do, they can always start again at Clitheroe's level, be interesting to see FC Everton 20/21 at Shawbridge.

The Prem clubs should be fine if matches are played behind closed doors.

It is the lower league clubs that are extremely vulnerable though. Playing behind closed doors wouldn't work for them. The players etc would need paying but they would have no revenue. I reckon most would lose their sponsors.

    Not arguing with you Alf!

Just saying that the Prem clubs should be fine but the lower league clubs will be threatened. Playing behind closed doors would actually make their situation worse. Players would need paying but there would be no income.

Football without fans means nothing to me Alf. I think we should just void this season and start again when mass gatherings are approved.

Trouble with this scenario is the EPL clubs lose their Wonga!

BT --you do enjoy taking notice of the press, however, how can you trust these journos when their knowledge of English allows them to write:- "Mayor Joe Anderson has now asked his public health team to carry out a full investigation to try and use data to fully back up this ascertion."
