In regards to G74, what it could fail on - i'm sure nothing but equally it wouldn't surprise me if they used the alleged piracy thing as fig leaf covering over another point.

I think it is less likely than likely and I take your point that hasn't been very long in the works at FA but still, bitter experience has taught me to be wary.
Jammy the piracy was thrown out of a French court, the boxes that are at the centre of it all were stopped in August last year so they are on top of it. The Americans have even praised the Saudis for their reaction to the piracy issues after having them on a warning list.
If they use that the Premier League would be sued from here to Saudi.
Take it from me the future of our club depends on this. This club will go into liquidation if this doesn't go through. Ashley is skint and with no income from the club and having to pay back TV money if the season isn't finished he will pull the rug from under us.
So don't think if this fails things will just be back to Ashley running the show. This will go through and more importantly it has to.

    I'm sure you are right.

Doesn't stop me being worried though

Agreed it has to go throw though.

Jammy, I am confident as you all know but i think a lot of peoples worries comes from Ashley being involved. My worry comes from the fact the overall future of the club is at stake.
If the PL did find a way to block it, in my opinion they are sending us to the wall. Ashley will take his debt and run. He thinks of himself and that will be better for him in the long run. He won't pay back TV money.

What I think could potentially stop it is a simple quick change to certain rules. Not sure if that's possible but I'm sure if the powers that be don't want it to happen they will find a way.

I'm fairly sure they couldn't move the goalposts mid-process.

    That would be illegal.

im not worried about it going through.

Its probably delayed because the FA will want their answers ready and are being thorough to cover their own backs from any backlash.

The government wont get involved neither will the FA get in the way of a royal household of a country buying a football club.

It wouldnt suprise me if it has already gone through and are just waiting for the funds to clear.
Some people close to the deal say its complete and have passed the test and others are saying it may be next week before completion. Is this down to the bank holiday on Friday perhaps. We know it takes 2-3 days for funds of this magnatude to clear

and another thing which may be causing a delay,

reported that Sudi Arabia are willing to bid 3 times the going rate to secure the premier league tv rights!

Now, if this is state owned, how will that look when they own Newcastle and raking in billions in tv revenue. Kiss goodbye to FFP

No it doesn't work like that.

Newcastle has to live within its means...not the means of the company that owns it!

no i mean, it will be a concern for the FA incase of corruption. If a company that has the tv rights owns the club. The FFP rules can be easily fecked then.
Someone said before the new shirt sponsor would be Aramco Oil which is owned by the Saudi family looking to buy us, how would it look if they sponsored us for a ridiculous amount of money and then had the Saudi tv company that owns the premier rights paying for advertising massively over the odds n stuff.

Who is to say what the limitations on sponsors are?
