It may have been a problem if there had been no break in the season with arguably our two best players in Ihiekwe and Barlasser both injured.
But they would have been back if we had restarted
I still think we would have finished second

Weighted PPG is an interesting idea which seems to make the most sense.

I was curious about how the Championship would look under this scenario, as I can't see them playing any more either.

Sheffield Wednesday would have 59.85 points.
The final relegation spot would be Charlton on 48.08 points.

That means a 12 point deduction is what would be required to take them to 47.85 points and into the relegation spots.

Can't honestly see Swinton making it. They're not even as good as Denaby.

The EFL really have to tighten up their rules and stop this.

As you say the overspending hasn't been very productive. I don't think they,ve been in the promo places since October
They were rumoured to have received over £5m for Jack Marriott in summer 2018.

I haven't seen a team this season good enough for the championship, including us.

I wonder if all points deductions will be null and void in order to protect the greater integrity of the professional game - could this be Wednesdays unexpected saving grace/get out of jail card?

Seems to be getting too wide a gap to bridge

Why would not punishing teams for breaking the rules protect the integrity of the game? I feel it would do the opposite!

On the contrary, I thought the Championship overall, had deteriorated this last season. We have a younger improving squad and with a few additions, there's no reason why we could not hold a mid table place.
