Luiz and Stones plus others all make many mistakes and are grossly overated. If Semi makes an error he quickly retrieves the ball.I really do think he will be a major player in the Premier league.Another point, this lad never gets injured.

If you look around the premier league and even all the other leagues, there aren't many really great central defenders around, hence why Van Dijk has made such a massive difference to Liverpool. He's just head and shoulders above anyone else in that position. I don't think it's beyond Semi to end up at a top 6 club if he has a good season with West Brom in the Premier League. I could see him back at Arsenal for instance.

Yeah Luis is a shocking players. He's only played for benfica. PSG, Chelsea and arsenal. Plus played in the world cup. Scored in the world cup. Copamerica winner Scoring in the comp plus Brasil only conceded 4 goals that tourney.
    Yeah agree he's shocking.

He'd drive you mad with some of his mistakes but I have to agree.

"I have incredible respect for his career. He's an exceptional player with incredible mentality and especially personality," Guardiola told a pre-match news conference, where he had particularly sharp words for David Luiz's critics.

"I laugh a lot about all the pundits, they were defenders and believe they didn't make one mistake in their careers when they played for 20, 10 or 15 years.

"I like that he is still playing football and I'm pretty sure he's going to make more good actions and mistakes as that's part of the game, but with a lot of dignity.

"I have a lot of respect for this player. A lot."

Did we have a "promotion" clause as part of the sale?

I was wondering at that sale and that of Vaulks ("undisclosed") - possibly Millers gaining from 2 promoted sides!

Good point but he's like Rio Ferdinand in that aspect, well hyped and they do well when there's a shortage of players in that position that fits the manager's style of play.

If so good why so many teams ?

Compared to most players 4 teams is not many plus he played for 4 of the better teams in europe
Who would you class as a world class defender who has had 4 clubs or fewer? Getting 5 players would be a struggle
Ramos and pique come to mind

Having played for Nigeria i presume he no longer qualifies for England. Could be a massive source of regret for Semi when he establishes himself as a top Prem centre half.
