More on the insanity, I was driving along in pleasant open countryside this morning between West Bradford and Waddington, coming in the opposite direction was a young lady cyclist, all the lycra gear on, fully togged up like a real club cyclist, and she was cycling along, all on her own, in the countryside, in the fresh air, wearing a face mask.
It really is depressing to get such daily reminders that I live in a lunatic asylum.![]()

Had to laugh at that. The whole thing is crazy and I certainly wouldn't wear a mask when I am out on my bike.
Mind you, as I said before, if I go to watch Ashington I have to wear a mask when stood out in the open air. On Saturday they play in the Vase at Nelson and, although, the stated infection figures down that area are far worse than in Ashington, I could travel down, pay on the gate and watch without a face mask. I am very tempted, however, Ashington have won their last 5 matches so I had better not jinx them!
Bloody hell Sub, you've drawn the short straw again, it can't be that long ago I was watching Ashington in a Cup match at Nelson, two years ago perhaps, maybe three ? Clitheroe went top last night with a 3-1 win at Mossley, they're serious promotion contenders this year, David Lynch, the player manager, was playing two levels higher at Alfreton last season, but the squad is that strong he isn't even putting himself on the bench, but we'll see, things can always go wrong, and often do.
Sinkov : ........'' but I've never seen a cyclist wear a mask when cycling past there.'' You should know years ago, was it Matt Dylon? Oh no, of course not,it was Bob Dylon. '' The Times They Are A-Changin' ''

Six or seven weeks ago me and the Child Bride were having a tootle over to Waddington for lunch. It was a lovely day, we had the top down on the MGF and we came through Sabden and down to the valley via Pendle Hill, when we saw what looked like a nuclear explosion. How the phuck does Heidelberg/Hanson get away with pumping that sh-it out over the Ribble Valley? No mask would save you from that cement dust maelstrom.
Talking about stupid is as stupid does - why the phuck are single occupants wearing face masks in a motor vehicle?![]()
BT ---I wondered about that too. Another question, why do people slip their masks down over their chin and walk around, is it laziness?
I could give you chapter and verse on that place BT, it's 25 years or so since the Environment Agency kept serious tabs on them for a while, but they failed to lay a glove on them, and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff the Agency was coming out with. One Saturday my car was covered in some sort of sticky dust/grit and it was impossible to wash it off without damaging the paintwork, the Agency had set up a Help Line to report incidents such as this, so I rang the number, the man from the Agency listened patiently and politely and then suggested I take the car to a garage, get it re-sprayed and send the bill to Castle Cement. After this farce I got to see Nigel Evans and asked him WTF was going on. He was brutally honest, for a politician anyway, he said they were a big employer, v-i-t-a-l to the economy of the area, and until they worked the quarry out, which would be many years into the future, nothing would be done about it.

“We will grind you revolutionists down under our heel, and we shall walk upon your faces.
The world is ours, we are its lords, and ours it shall remain. As for the host of labor, it has been in the dirt since history began,
and I read history aright. And in the dirt it shall remain so long as I and mine and those that come after us have the power.
There is the word. It is the king of words—Power. Not God, not Mammon, but Power. Pour it over your tongue till it tingles with it. Power.”
