Thanks. He was an old man and quite frail but kept bouncing back. Still would have been nice if he could have passed at home surrounded by, at least some of, his loved ones rather than in isolation.

What galls is that Orange(sic) pr1ck in the Whitehouse got though it - like a miracle - and one of the real good guys didn't.

So, fit's new? - apart fae actually haein a damn good reason tae borrow? Hasna seemed tae hae caused heads tae roll so far.

As for Scotland? Seems tae me that the UK has habitually 'borrowed' Scotland's entire GDP on an annual basis ... but rather that pay back with interest, 'repays' us somewhat less than that sum 'borrowed'.

I believe that if we were in control of our own finances, we would have less need to borrow - or at least be in control of what we borrow ... and how much 'assistance' we can give to our good neighbours down south.
I'm afraid that's far too sensible for a number of folk that live here

Nah don't worry he would have appreciated it.
He was real active in the Scottish Humanists back in the day so better hope he was right.

Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts - not the sort of thing i would normally share on this forum but I was provoked.

He had a good knock and was a diamond "if I'm half the man he was I'm twice the man of most"

Anyway to steer things back on topic he was school mates with Sammy Leighton - never said if he was much chop as a keeper.
