Sinkov it’s not fake news at all. To be specific there were 492 deaths reported yesterday, that compares in a table worldwide off deaths reported yesterday and is comparable to deaths reported here each day over the last 6 months. That’s what statisticians do. They want indicators fast not have to wait days or weeks later before you can steer the ship. They also now quote 7 day rolling averages to help smooth the Sunday effect.

On average, 10,000 people die every week in the UK and that statistic is NOT changing, nor is it likely to change over the course of 2020.

I fail to see what the panic is about.

Yes it is FAKE NEWS OC, you admit it yourself. This is what you posted,

    "We had 492 deaths yesterday"

    Now you've changed it to,

"there were 492 deaths reported yesterday,"

Which is accurate. There were not 492 deaths, there were 492 deaths reported, the number was high because deaths had been under-reported in the previous two days. But you're well aware of this OC, I don't really need to explain it to you do I. One statement is a lie, the other is the truth, the lie makes the situation appear worse than it is. I can understand why slimebag politicians like Starmer would lie, I don't understand why you would.

Oi you, it's the Tories (the lot you voted in) are providing these fake figures and not slime bag Labour politicians like Starmer.

Come on OC, this is desperate stuff, this is a long running crisis, it's been ongoing now for at least eight months, and it's going to be with us for at least another eight months or more likely longer, so a couple of days more to get the true picture is neither here nor there. To steer the ship we do not need or want fast indicators, we need accurate indicators, and if that means waiting 3/4 days then that is what we should do.

It already appears that Boris has been bounced into Lockdown 2 on the back of some very dodgy stats, the veracity of which are coming under increasing scrutiny, using the 'deaths by date reported' figure to measure our progress is equally dodgy, when the true number of deaths is known just 2/3 days later. But I shouldn't be surprised, this entire enterprise seems to be run on the back of dodgy stats, which is probably why it's such a fecking shambles.

They are not fake figures BT, one is the number of deaths 'reported' on a given date, the other is the number of deaths that 'occurred' on a given date, I believe both figures are as accurate as they can be. The FAKE NEWS occurs when slimeball politicians like Starmer pick a date when the deaths reported figure is high and pretend it's the number of deaths that has actually occurred on that date.

It's par for the course for professional liars like Starmer, it's disappointing that two esteemed posters on this board are apt to do the same

The seven day rolling average for deaths in the UK is 309.29.

    And rising rapidly.
