    You're right Brin, I've been down Maltby and Howarth and the mining museum, I wouldn't have wanted to work there. But has you say the camaraderie must have been good.

    VillaMiller, I stand corrected pal. I should have realised the two star gatherers on the elevating front skirt were missing also the fact that the paddles didn't run up the side going towards the driver, they gathered below and fed it up a chain to propel out of the back where the driver sat. This is a LH 1300. As for LH meaning low height, we set 16ft x 14 ft rings so where's the 'low height' come from?

    The low height comes from the height of the m/c which was about 1.5m considerably less then the mk2a which was over 2m ,you could set 16ft rings because the boom was massive and this could be extended or reduced to suit any job ......a brilliant m/c
