Going by what my favourite manager was saying I will adjust my guess at his starting eleven and captain for tommorow

    Woods
    McCrorie
    Hoban
    Considine (capt)
    Leigh
    Ferguson
    Campbell
    Kennedy
    Hayes
    Hendry
    Hornby

I am still predicting 0-1 Hendry

I’d go 4-4-2 with what we have left

Woods (won’t happen as Lewis is undroppable in DM’s eyes)
    Logan Hoban Considine Leigh
    Kennedy Ferguson McCrorie Hayes
    Hendry Hornby

Fair enough if you can’t produce a top striker.
But we can’t produce an effective defender.
We bought a striker, who'd played one game for his club, for £20k. Turned him into a £2m striker (2 different clubs offered that or more for him)

We took a laddie through our system and loaned him out for experience. He came back (not having played often on his loan) and became a Scotland captain and was sold for over £2.5m.

I'd say that is producing effective strikers and defenders!

    We got lucky with both.

Cosgrove, I don’t count as one of our youngsters and anyway may never go through a scoring spell again in his career, he really isn’t a very good footballer.

McKenna might have never got a game if not for injuries and an appalling defeat at Motherwell.
He really did have an amazing rise in fortunes that season but is not much more than a steady central defender.
Their “value” is much more to do with the inflated English market* than with their ability.

I would have McKenna back in the team but Cosgrove can stay away.

    * I know there was an offer from France for Cosgrove.

Can I ask if you want to keep Derek McInnes as manager?

I genuinely don't know. My posts are intended to show that any decision on that should be made on the facts rather than on emotion. I don't think we, the fans, have all the information to make that judgement. For example how do Derek and Tony get on with the players and vice versa? How much has Derek's work been limited by the club's financial status? I.e. what constraints has he been working under whilst we've spent on training facilities etc.

Taking a detailed look into things like: it seems we've been very unlucky in cup draws both at home and in europe. Is that a fair statement? It also seems like we've been exceptionally unlucky with injuries. Is that correct compared to other clubs? Over the piece, (some) fans seem to think we've got a poor record against the cheeks. Again is that factually correct?

These types of factors need to be considered and we the fans aren't best placed to do that.

I also think another consideration should be that any chief executive should have a shelf life of around 8 years or so. Whether this applies to the club as a whole or to the football operation as a standing entity I don't know. I guess that's for the Chairman to decide.

Perhaps some of the reasons (some of) the fans are upset are because of these or some of these reasons. Perhaps not. But before taking away someone's livihood the facts should be understood.

You also have to take into account the sheer boredom of watching our team play.

A simple yes or no would have sufficed

Joe undroppable Lewis stays in the team and captains us again. Astounding considering him virtually giving Livingston victory the other night. What’s the point in having Woods in the squad if he can’t be trusted whilst Joe Lewis has his poorest season as Aberdeen goalkeeper?

    Pish.

We've not had any harder cup draws than anyone else.

We've got a terrible record against Celtic and rangers.

We get the same injuries as everyone else.

He's still getting more money to spend than anyone else other than Celtic and rangers, plus he's got super duper fancy training facilities that Fergie described as being as good as any around.
