Match Thread vs. Wealdstone FC 13.03.21 [NL]

Match day again and manager, players and fans are all hopeful of a big turnaround in form. Following the players' meeting perhaps we can expect a lot more energy and commitment to be visible on the pitch. Here's hoping!

As I imagine everyone else was, I was bitterly disappointed after Tuesday night. However a combination of having not much else to do today and wanting to see how we react has led me to purchase the stream for today to see how we do. Being a Notts fan I also have a level of optimism on matchdays that can border on the delusional so I am rather hoping we finally turn the corner, play like a proper team and get a result.

If we put in a strong performance and win, that might persuade me that we have just had a blip recently and will bounce back. If there is no improvement at all after all that Ardley has said and after this apparent player meeting, then we really will be in trouble. Let's hope it's the former.

Looking at that side today - when Swale pops it on, it looks a 3-5-2. A change in ethos maybe. Maybe Ardley does read the board as I popped this on the other day.

Like the look of that but a bit surprised to see both Lacey & Rawlinson starting after everything we have heard..Hopefully see the best of Effiong up front with Wootton as a 2.

The trouble is that our 3-5-2 invariably ends up being a 5-3-2

Nearly 2 years after being relegated, we’ve still got three of the players from that midfield. Farcical.

Besides which, that’s got to be one of the slowest professional football teams ever put together.

Other than all that , great!!!

That's my worry. At least with 3 big centre backs and 2 big strikers we should cause them problems at set pieces. That's on the assumption that the set pieces are well taken of course, it's been a big problem so far this season.
