World Cup final 1966, full game in colour, on now Channel 4

The speed of the game is at a snails pace. Both these teams wouldn't be able to cope with today's high tempo game.

Yes I've watched the game a few times over the years and the speed and standards are poor.
A lot of misplaced passes, up and unders, poor possession, miscontrols and that's from both teams.
I'm sure the boots they used and the weight of the ball didn't help though

I remember rushing back from holiday in Blackpool aged 8 to watch it.

Unfortunately the game on Channel 4 isn’t commentated on by Kenneth Wolstenholme who worked for the BBC.

Another interesting stat. West Germany didn’t beat England in a game until 1968.

I knew there was something wrong with the commentator as I was sure that was Brian Moore.

The famous, “Some people are on the pitch, they think it’s all over, it is now, Hurst makes it four” was missing.

I noticed today just how good of a game Alan Ball had. He was closing the Germans down quickly all over the pitch.
