I don't think my kids would be overly impressed with the water temperature Swale. Even though due to lockdown and a restricted movement order we are 13km from the beach and cannot go further than 10

I hope no one boos it at Notts, but my hopes aren’t high.
Not really what I meant, the point was if our players can get that kind of racist abuse (which you absolutely knew was coming the minute we lost that shootout sadly) then what has taking a knee all season achieved? I understand they're "highlighting the issue" but the issue is already clear to see, people in power need to actually do something about it and taking a knee doesn't seem to have achieved anything, more needs to be done, not less.

Yet we still concede 3 goals to York? Great stuff.

"kick it out" doesn't seem to have had the desired effect either. Not sure what can be done.

We did indeed and 2 against a very youthful Derby side and 1 against Boston United.

CF and I are fans of the manager, I take it you aren't?

I do understand the worry and I feel worry myself stemming from the fact that we're so desperate to get out of this league. I think this amplifies our concern as if IB is another lame duck then that's another season wasted etc. For me I think we have a good manager who if given time will get us out this league, he doesn't want to be here and neither do we. We lost to York again yes but a different game, we created a lot of chances which we never did under Ardley. The worry was the defence and especially Cameron being our new supposed stand out defender captain. People were also worried about Slocombe in that game although I have no worries about him for the coming season.

For me the result and performance by those players against York isn't that bad a think as they'll know they played crap and will not want to play like that again. They also know in a league game with us fans there then that also is unacceptable. Better they get it out they way now and don't go into the season thinking they're all that, they need to be on it 100% of the time in every game, I hope now they realise this. We also seem to not have this 3 CB's down working right and get easily beaten in the air but again this is what these games are for. IB isn't going to watch the game against York and think 'yep we're completely OK, let's go' he's not an idiot and this is a job he's keen to make a big impression in as he wants to be in the Premier league himself one day.

I was encouraged by his post match interview where he actually saw the game we did. The question is can he not only identify a fault but coach it out of them, Ardley couldn't do it so I'm hoping IB is a superior trainer and tactician which I believe he is. The one thing that does worry me though is being a bit soft in the middle, I really do wish we'd get a **** off centre mid but I will give the young lads a chance.

Any new season is a gamble but at our level I think IB is a good catch for us and if he had as much time as Ardley he'd leave us much better off I'm sure of it.

I want him to be successful, as in getting us out of this league, as all Notts fans do.

The key issue is the defence.

Well yeah it is but I just won't go getting stressed out before the season has officially kicked off. I'm sure IB knows much more what we need than you or I so gave some faith. COYP
