Yes we will but we will have had to show some intent to already be 1-0 up. You get some kind of strange 'right' (for want of a better word) to deploy such tactics in said scenarios. As frustrating as they can be. However Wycombe weren't winning with 20 to go and the main 'issue' is their lack of intent to try and win, seemingly, from the off. Like I said before, it isn't the end of the world but I expected more from them. They just nullified the game when they had better players to try and take it to us. If that makes sense?

I remember us blatantly time wasting at Bramall Lane a few years ago when we were 0-1 down with about ten mins to go. I think it was the Saturday after Tony,s wife passed away.
A Blades fan was laughing at work on the Monday and looked at me for answers. Why would we waste time if we were losing

Simple, I said. We were trying to stop you going 0-2 up because we had no chance of scoring two. However being just 0-1 down and entering a period of 6 minutes of OT gave us a chance of a breakaway, nicking a goal we didn't deserve and rescuing an unlikely point.
I think the Blunts got a second so the plan didn't work anyway.

I don't see us play much but I don't remember us deploying 'Wycombe like' tactics at Cardiff last season when we probably had every 'right' to do so in a game where our Championship life depended on us holding on to the 1-0 win. However, I may have been wearing my rose tinted specs that day.

    As we all do

But just even hint at us being “ too nice” and it’s tin hat time

Fair point, MillersTime and it does make sense. I agree the two situations are a bit different. I don't think anybody is giving Anscombe a great deal of credit for the way he played; it's more a case of the extent to which we want him to vilified!

How anyone can defend those tactics is beyond me. It’s cheating. One of there players went down banging the floor like he’s really injured. Our player gets a yellow card miraculously the Wycombe player gets up.
The physio not coming on is just outrageous. Constantly slowing everything down. Going down when not touched. Waving the imaginary card trying to get our player booked.

It’s been said on here that we’ve done the same. Well I’ve only missed a handful of games over the last 10 years and I must have been watching a different team.
Remember Bournemouth away they went down far too easy there was uproar on here but Wycombe did it all the game and we’re supposed to respect it as good game management.
Some of the comments on here condoning it are embarrassing.

It’s cheating and that’s why football is getting less enjoyable. It’s now applauded as good management.
In my book they are cheats and it seems some of our supporters would be happy for us to do the same.
    Very sad.

Wow, quite a lot of butt-hurt snowflakery going on here. By all means, point out where I have applauded any of what went on, or accused us of anything specific in the past. But of course, I never did. Ever heard of a straw man argument?

My thoughts were on how the thread reads, which I did specifically say. It reminds me of so many after match posts by supporters of our opponents over the last few years. It comes across as sanctimonious, and as if we don’t employ ANY such ideas in our own pure football ethos where we play like angels. The contrast between how other fans have written about us and the criticism Warne gets on here for his “good people” ethos was suddenly thrown into sharp relief for me, hence my “Wycombe in red” analogy that clearly went too far for many of you.

Did anyone want to discuss that though? No, of course not. I posted about a hypocrisy I’d noticed and so I was immediately a liar and/or a WUM. The “we don’t like what you said so we will attack you” mentality has ruled this board for years, 800 posts in 11 years? I’m surprised it’s that many. OK, We have never time wasted, our players never foul, they are only strong, we have never made any situation appear worse than it really was to gain advantage in any way. That better darlings?

Lying is an illness. Get some help.
A good example of what I just said. Point out one lie in the post you quoted when responding in that way.

I just realised, from happy clapper Warney boy, to a lying WUM that’s not a real Miller, I’ve now been attacked from both ends of the spectrum. Just shows what having your own opinion gets you on here. Well done all of you

Every club will try and slow the game down, they did it from KO but not every club cheat and take ref for a mug like Wycombe did, to imply we are like them is just wrong imo

Yes definitely another windup merchant on here, how sad a life they must lead

Yes, Wycombes over the top approach was atrocious and not pointing out that we don’t go to those extremes was my error, but I thought that was a given.

But yet again I’m labelled, rather than spoken with. I’ll leave you all to your circle jerk. This must be the cliqueyist fan site on the internet. It’s not enough to be a half century supporter and season ticket holder of the same club, you have to actually be “in the gang”. I suggest it’s the clique mentality that is sad and stifles proper debate. Label the person posting as a liar or WUM, discussion over. Sad indeed.

It is actually possible to point out the flaws in an argument without any of that bull****. Try it sometime.
