Man City didn’t pull up any trees there did they but how many will we eventually see in Prem?
I’ve seen Kayode and Hull play better than that but it was a good game for some of them youngsters and them that needed game time
I like the look of McGuckin, hopefully a future 1st team player coming through
Hatrick for Sadlier, maybe that’s his position
All in all a good game

    Kayo?

    Kieran Sadlier
    77.6%
    Hakeem Odoffin
    5.5%
    Jake Hull
    12.5%
    Joshua Kayo
    4.5%

Still get Prem teams out before they worm their way in league

The result last night could have been 8-6.Before he scored his first goal, Sadlier should have netted twice and there were other opportunities to score. However the team that City played was full of pace and technical skill and had their finishing been better the score would have been a lot closer. We also had youngsters making their debuts and all did well showing that there is a lot of promise in them and playing alongside first team players will have brought them on.I will not knock this competition on the basis that it gives our youngsters the chance to play at a higher level and improve their development.

Great result, another confidence builder and keeps that momentum rolling. Going into Saturday now we will be full of confidence after a great run of results. I think Sunderland will definitely be very wary of their day at NYS

It does, Millerbill, I agree. What I disagree with is a rule that forces us to play a number of regular first teamers, presumably in an attempt to maintain the “integrity” of the competion, that doesn’t apply to *some* clubs who are free to field an entire squad of unknown ****agers. That actively keeps some of our younger players out and prevents them from having the same chance.

Quite an enjoyable game with lots of goal mouth action. Was very frustrated witth Sadlier until he scored, he has much potential but struggles to do the right thing at the right time. However, I have long agreed with Gru in that if we don't tie Grigg down I would like to see him play behind Smudge.

Nice to see some young lads in action, although I don't particularly think any stood out last night. Just good collective effort. Expected a bit more from Odoffin but maybe my expectations are out of touch witht reality.

Quite enjoying this competition. Let's go to Wembley!

Its starting to look like sadlier played better when he's allowed to roam. I'm not sure what his position was last night though he seamed to be everywhere. Maybe that's why he's not showing up when wiles, barlazer, Rothbone are on the park.

I guess it does and it doesn't beau. I think it's only 4 senior players and tbh you wouldn't want 11 youngsters on the field at once as the experience from the seasoned pros has to be helpful.

Tbh I thought our squad last night was perfect for this comp. Bench warmers and youngsters. With old head woody thrown in

I'm not sure that he wasn't showing up when given chances in the first team Cayton. He was just frustrating at making poor decisions or at least not executing good decisions very well! as of last night up to the first goal but then seemed to click. I agree with you (and cudos to Gru on this as he was saying it earlier in the season) that he should be given a shot in this role when opportunities arise.

I wasn't there but I've always said even if Grigg could play against Sunderland Sadlier would be my choice playing no. 10 role behind Smith. There's goals in him & he can take good free kicks. Another thing Miller Top whose opinions I take notice of I can't understand why Hull is in front of Cooper who appears to have gone the way of others discarded.

Absolute delusions if people think Sadlier is a viable, consistent, long term option behind Smudge. Average as average can be against meaningful opposition. If we played Donny every week or some kids then perhaps, everyone else? Not a chance. Hence why he doesn't play usually.
