Rafa isn't ready to not be a manager, think he'd get to involved and end up annoying Howe.
You'd end up with a squad split between the two.

Now Emery appears to be out of the frame
The best solution to my mind would be Howe in as coach/manager and bring Rafa in elevated to D.o.F.
I'm sure they would work well together and become a dream team.
