Well it looks an appointment if true that carries a hell of a lot of risk in my opinion .
I take the point every appointment carries risk but nobody would convince me that someone like Alex Neil who has a very credible championship record would be more a risk than this guy .
In my opinion we need a change in strategy given the teams league position and concerns about our current financial position .
To say it's imperative we remain in the championship is an understatement .
My feelings in football are this , you can push your luck once too often in this game following the same strategy .
Stendel , Struber and Val were good appointments but Morais and Schopp were train crashes .
There are no geniuses on Grove Street that I do know and luck plays a far bigger part than many people realise at the club .
Struber would have failed to keep us up in any other season .
Val wouldn't have had us in the play offs in any other season .
Stendel had the best squad in league one to work with .
I'm not knocking their achievements but simply putting them in context with a dose of realism .
What I'm saying is let's not get carried away here thinking this strategy is anything special , it isn't .
Crying out in my opinion for a solid no nonsense man in the technical area who knows this league extremely well with a credible record to go with it .
Happy enough for lady luck to play its part one more time and be proved wrong .
My gut feeling is we are as good as down .
Personally I would like the club to have approached Warnock to take the gig until the end of the season with a big cash bonus for keeping us up , I realise this is never going to happen its just my thoughts, I also think that Warnock would be a cost effective way instead of having to pay compensation for a foreign coach & his assistant plus all relocation costs , going foreign is not a cheap option , it is possibly an expensive gamble & whilst all appointments are a gamble I feel Warnocks track record suggests that he has more credentials to do the job than other candidates .
I'd have taken Warnock too Shad but as you say it was never going to happen whilst we are under this hierarchy .
Alex Neil seemed to me to be a realistic appointment and delivered the move away from the current strategy without going from one extreme to another so to speak .
Middling ground .
How important the clubs league position is to these owners is debatable given what we have recently heard about the lack of bids coming in for our players and how that is deemed to be classed as an unsuccessful season .
The tv revenue alone from the championship seems to be of higher value than some of our players with the way many have performed so far this season .
But what do we know mate .
You'd also imagine that if you couldn't attract any bids from other clubs for your players after finishing 5th in the championship with 78 points .
Then what chance do you have moving them on for good money if the majority of the very same players get you relegated ? .
Me neither .
Our lucks running out and fast in my opinion.
I’m feeling very underwhelmed with this one considering the position we are in.
I can't see any point in following BFC these day's, if these owners aren't bothered , why should the fans be , Possible Relegation , a big drop in season tickets , a crumbling ground ! Apart from that ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
