Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have masks in shops and they have had more Covid cases than England, it's just theatre.

Was in Wales earlier in the year, whilst masks were required in shops there were many defaulters, like us no action taken against them, so the rotten apples continue to spoil the barrel

I'll continue to wear my mask even if I have no proof they work much like I believe in God. What's to lose? There is some sort of philosophical argument for this position but I can't remember what it's called (Something paradox? Pascal's wager?) Still, I remember the argument but it's a bit longwinded to put on here.

There's no evidence that they work.

I think they got it right in the first place, wash your hands and keep your distance if possible.

They may work in some way for flu though if they were telling the truth about flu almost disappearing last Winer.

I was down in London a few weeks ago.

On the tube the wearing of masks is compulsory as a condition of travel but TFL don’t enforce their own rule.

Interesting to observe the demographics of mask wearers on the tube, nigh on 100% for over 50 white Caucasian types, near to 10% for the “Windrush” under 30s. High take up for the Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese types but poor on those that seem to be Pakistani or Indian background.

If we are really serious about beating covid we have to be a lot tougher on those that won’t cooperate

British born Indian and Pakistani folk must be a different breed then because here in the US I rarely if ever see any out in public without a mask. I'd say the greatest 'culprits' as far as non-wearing goes are white Americans closely followed by African Americans although surprisingly the ones robbing and looting in the recent spate of social media fueled 'events' always seem to remember their masks.

Where are you getting your information from?

I don't disagree regarding the masks. What I'd like to know is why some of the so called expert scientists told us at the beginning of the pandemic that masks were not needed as they weren't very effective at preventing the spread!!!!!

Obviously they changed their minds quite quickly but it makes you wonder about their competence!!

Where are you getting your information from?

Austria has had them for a year, FFP2 ones too, not cloth ones, not really done them much good has it?

Czech Republic too, masks for ages, as much use as a chocolate teapot.

And how do you explain Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with masks having higher cases than England, without?

Now flu, maybe they did help for that, but it's a different virus.
