I used to work in the steelworks 30+ years ago, we had to knock the furnace lining out and rebuild it it was the Shytest job ever. We used to wear a suit akin to a hazmat one and a helmet like the Alien films, it made a complete seal and filtered air through to our faces.

This equipment cost a fortune at the time and the dust still got in your eyes, up your nose and you cough it up 48 hours later.

The dust particles were bigger than the virus particles, so can someone explain how the feck one of Johns 3p masks are going to protect you?

...and if you still do I have some magic beans for sale, as many as you want

True but as I understand it the virus is carried in droplets which are bigger. Can someone scientific support this? (or rubbish it)

That doesn't sound very pleasant and there was clearly something wrong.

All of the seals on the suit would need to be intact, replaced periodically and maintained and serviced regularly.
Also professionally cleaned Perhaps after each and every use and to the manufacturers strict guidance.

If this was done then the suit must have been faulty.
In any event it clearly wasn't fit for purpose and should have been replaced with an alternative.

Back in the 70s I did a secondment at Porton Down, the levels of isolation and protection there were staggering. They are probably even stricter now

My Dad did that for 25+ years and finally took redundancy in 1993. Maybe you knew him?

Wait, you're comparing the mitigation for dust to a virus.

The fact you think this is a reasonable comparison to make is staggering.

I'm not sure what your point is... because you individually wore a dodgy mask in the 1970s the mass studies that showing masks reduce Covid by 53% are wrong?

You've gone quiet on the £100 Rotherham Hospice wager gm... not going to take it?
