Are these owners that bad ???

…….. that a Facebook page has been dedicated to Conway Out.

I don’t think they are that bad.

OK - they made a terrible decision ditching the successful tactics of last season.
And something went wrong with the Dike deal that would have greatly improved the fortunes of the club on and off the field this season.

But other than that - what else is there ???
Moved £750k about in the company - but that’s normal in business.

    Closing the West Stand.
Which IMO was a smokescreen to move the development of the ground forward.
It seems that the dispute over the development of the ground has put the brakes on the directors plans for the club.
This 3rd party interference needs sorting ASAP - because once sorted it would then reveal the owners intentions - whether that be a small investment in the ground or something grander.

The option of moving to another ground I suspect is part of that development plan.
Moving away from home is going to cost the owners £££millions so one would think it would only be temporary.
Although that option has been dropped now - why it was floated in the first place should have been made clearer.

But looking at the football side of things - if you set aside this season - these owners have been quite good.
Other than Morais all the managers they have appointed have been good.

Supporters may single out Schopp as being a poor manager.
Schopp’s record before coming to Barnsley was a good one.
But obviously his hands were tied if the directors were telling him how to play.
Given a free hand and an experienced midfielder and target striker then I believe Schopp would have been ok.
Asbaghi has also picked up the mess left over from the change of tactics imposed by the owners.

But if you look at the squad - anyone who has supported Barnsley for a number of years can see that it’s a solid squad that is better than most squads of the last few decades.
A decent cake has been baked - it just lacks a bit of icing.
The frustrating thing about the team is that everyone can see where the icing is needed - and as the owners are supposed to be wealthy why arn’t they putting their hands in their own pockets to finish the cake.

Most supporters agree that the owners ‘shouldn’t go crazy’ - but they should at least finish the job and provide a rounded squad.
The present squad is lacking in experience in midfield and insufficient target strikers have been appointed to play (if need be) the successful vertical tactics of last season.

In summary - the 3rd party issue has stalled the club going forward - and a massive mistake has been made interfering with this seasons tactics, that will probably result in relegation - but other than that the owners have moved the squad forward - it just needs the owners to invest a bit of their own money to acquire a sprinkling of experience that would benefit the young players.

Once the team starts winning again the opposition to these owners will die a death.

The current trend is to berate these owners at every opportunity - so I realise these views will not be the views of many.
But they are my honest opinion.

You forgot to mention the Giddings interview where we were told increasing player value for resale is more important than performance or success on the field.

If that isn’t damming enough I don’t know how low they have to go to convince people they are here for themselves and for no other reason

Tell me how these owners are doing any good?

Constant wall of silence from them
    Constant managerial changes
    Poor player recruitment
    West stand debacle
    No stadium upgrade in decades
Constant rumours of playing away from Oakwell
    Constant disregard towards the fans

Something needs to happen and this Facebook group will hopefully be the kickstart to get these clowns out.

All I ask from a player is that he gives 100% and tries to improve his game if he does that I’ll back him all the way.
All I ask from an owner is they have the best interest of the club and the fans and by that I don’t mean just the bank balance.
I feel these owners have no real interest in the game of football never mind B.F.C.
Every player is a product who they expect to get a profit from. Progression on the pitch is secondary in their eyes and if they’re lucky enough to have a good season like last then that’s a bonus.
they think that they can sell a player for a profit just as easy from the top end of Div1 as they can from the lower end of the championship.
I just can’t see these owners ever investing in experienced player who’s not going to have any sell on value.

[QUOTE=Hemsy_Phil;39943340]Tell me how these owners are doing any good?QUOTE.
    ………….

Well Phil - at least tha’s been honest enough to provide reasons for disliking these owners.
So let’s go through them …..

    1) Constant wall of silence from them ……
I went to the Q&A sessions under PC.
The CEO sessions under PMG are far bigger and more open.

    2) Constant managerial changes ……
That’s because (most) managers that PMG have employed are sort after.
The days of managers like Keith Hill are well and truly over at Barnsley.

    3) Poor player recruitment ……
To a degree you have a point here.
IMO the recruitment of young talent has been excellent but it should have been sprinkled with a few experienced quality players.
But but but ….. you don’t need to have a brilliant memory to remember the 15 (FIFT.EEN) years under PC when every season most of the Barnsley players were on loan.
And as a consequence virtually a new team had to be built at the start of EVERY season.
    Thankfully those days are gone.

    4) West stand debacle ……
PMG have repeatedly said they need better facilities to raise income.
That’s income that would ultimately generate a better team.
I believe the delays in development of the ground has been a major holdup for PMG.
Probably caused by the 3rd party issue.
I love the West Stand - but for the future prospects of the club it needs to be demolished and replaced.

    5) No stadium upgrade in decades …….
PMG have only been owners for 4 or 5 years.
But PC didn’t spend much on the ground.
What you see now is due to Big JD.
At least we hear that PMG want to develop the stadium - I never heard that when PC was in charge.

    6) Constant rumours of playing away from Oakwell …….
As I’ve said - I believe that relates to wanting to develop Oakwell.
I can’t fault them for wanting to do that.

    7) Constant disregard towards the fans …..
Khaled has been here a couple of months and held two Q&As and had lengthy interviews.

    8) Something needs to happen and this Facebook group will hopefully be the kickstart to get these clowns out …….
We had 15 years of PC not building anything on the field - or off it.
    SO WHY PROTEST NOW ???

IMO - it’s simply because these owners are NOT of our own.

And no - it’s nothing to do with racism - it’s more to do with wealthy business people that are here to make money.
Generally speaking the people of Barnsley are suspicious of wealthy business people - especially if they are outsiders.

Don’t get me wrong - these owners could have done much better than what they have done.
With a bit more foresight the club could have been flying by now.
But the club has still got a much brighter future under PMG than it ever did under PC and JD.

That should be - sought after.
    Not - sort after.

Nearly always happens - you throw something on the board - and then see the spelling mistakes when it’s too late to change it.
