League Cup 1981 against Man City… it only took one goal from big Trev … almost 34,000 watched it.

We’d only been out of 4th division for a couple of years and weren’t City top of 1st division at the time ?

No, I think Swansea were top and we beat them 2 rounds earlier

And surprisingly weren't all 3 of them, Man City, Swansea, & Brighton, relegated the following season in 1982-83 ?.
It shows they never recovered from us taking a big stick to them all in those Lg cup matches.

If we're just on about the Fa cup though, I could mention loads of good and bad memories.
This week back in '81 for example was my first ever game, an Fa cup win against Torquay. And I was there for the next round as well against the mighty Enfield lol.
I will always remember the fans fighting with the coppers that day and they were running over the roofs of the cars. Thankfully our car was undamaged.
    Great times indeed!.

Well remembered about 82/83 season !

Didn’t Brighton finally lose to Man Utd in FA Cup final that year ?

I marvel at your memories… I was there for all the big wins, and a few of our less memorable results, I can remember Big Trevs goal, and Howard’s too, but the rest are all a blur. Some days I can’t remember what I had for breakfast!…. I can remember a time at Chester when there was trouble because folk get separated when the coppers closed a gate at half time.
Man City and Man United wins at home for me were the most elating, big clubs from up here.
