I think Ogbene playing up front sometimes will suit him until he learns to constantly put good crosses in but it won’t be anytime soon unless we use Kayode out wide until Tutu is fit enough

If he scores the 2nd goal for us in a 2-2 draw this season, and it being an equalizing goal, will the commentator say ' and Tutu makes it tutu'........

    I'll get mi coat 😣

Kayode scored plenty of goals from out wide right for Carlisle though they didn't play him as a wingbacks

Get what I agree with out the way. Yes it gives us greater flexibility with Ogbene either resting or perhaps being used somewhere else. And yes it allows Wes to play CB more with another option outside of Chieo to play on the wing.

We have sold a player that hasn't played for us in the past 2 seasons. Nobody will notice him gone as he has never been here to start with. And like PW said, Sadlier played 1 in 6. Neither were integral parts of the first XI, nor the squad.

Why doesn't it show ambition? This is the part. What a load of tripe. We've added a goal threat without losing a striker in return and we have a highly promising player on loan from Arsenal. Why isn't that ambition? Who on earth did you expect? Look around, there ain't money about. Sunderland have 1 fit striker still like they have the whole window. They are looking at Defoe. What a pedigree but he is 39 years old and played 9 minutes of football this season. Imagine if we signed a 39 year old. Poor old Gru would choke on his cornflakes for a start. There is bugger all money about and we have hopefully made shrewd investments, low risk, high reward. They can only add to the squad.

Maybe I'm a happy clapper to a degree but jheez, always has to be a dig in there somewhere.
Oh I am so sorry for having an opinion that differs from you, please forgive me for not seeing everything your way.

Ogbene played down the middle in a number of games, he failed to hold the ball up and is a one trick pony, knock it past and run faster than them, it is the same whether out wide or down the middle. If he plays there and does well then great, all i am saying is from the times I have watched him do that i am not yet convinced.

My lad is a forest fan he says this lad can play but he just doesn't play enough games to bring a consistent quality to the side, you almost have to have cover for him on the bench, also at the moment he is NOT fit to play.

I said on another thread I think kelly is a good signing, but you cannot say he is a proven player at this level, therefore there is a risk, however with no transfer fee it is a GOOD risk to take.

I know Tilt didn't play for us, but he clealry is good enough otherwise he wouldn't be in the Wigan team, our main rivals. We got money for him so that is good, surely it isn't asking much for that money to be spent on bringing in some defensive cover and minimise the risk of relying on an aging Wood (outstanding player that he is) and an injury prone Mattock (end of career at this level) for the next 6 weeks, we will miss REG he is the only pace in the back 3 and has been outstanding, we are pushing for a top two, in my opinion we are taking an unecessary risk we could have got a loan player in for cover.

I can understand the argument for letting sadlier go, but I wish we hadn't, he gave us something different i still think we are very one dimensional but perhaps that one dimension will be good enough for the rest of the season, when we play well we are good, it is purely an observation but we haven't been as good over the last 6 weeks as we were October to middle of December, perhaps some of that is down to other teams knowing what we will do.

So we sold 2 players for money, reduced wage liability by letting 4 players go so to me we have had a financial positive window, I think defensive cover could have been funded from the sales. before you have a go about the money (I never suggested spending big or buying 39 year old strikers) I am very happy having a board that runs the club in the way it does, we would have a lot more money if we were in teh Championship though, it is the trade off and how much you speculate.

Me saying that I believe your opinion about ambition being wide of the mark and tripe has nothing to do with you not being able to disagree with me. Disagree all you like, that's fine. Nothing you've said above makes me think any different on that. You've said a lot that I agree with however not having another CB doesn't lack ambition from the club. I still believe that accusation towards the club is wide of the mark.

REG is out for 4 weeks. We have Wes, Wood, Icky, Mattock, Angus (presumably as PW keeps saying he will put him on) and Odoffin who can fill that void for a few weeks and then we will have a plethora of CBs to choose from.

Like I say, I largely agree with what you've said above but we have had an ambitious window in the circumstances imo.
