Yeah, and they’ve Mede it clear that they’re a part of The Trust membership, not outsiders which I think was confusing some folk. It’s a long-term power-grab but I think they’ll find that members will be quite selective when it comes to voting.

An excellent response to the trusts renewed inviation to have a meeting methinks. Way to go.

The biggest new membership rush in these situations will always be in the first 2 or 3 weeks, then it slows to a trickle and maybe stops.
Futhermore, the existing CUOSC board may well be getting its sycophants to recruit their sycophants such that the incoming membership from Unita Fortior will need to be more than originally envisaged if UF is to achieve its clear aims.
The existing CUOSC board is aware that it needs to already defend its position. Defending is a lot easier than attacking. The CUOSC 'powers that be' consist of solicitors and accountants. UF will not put up anyone for membership of the board of CUOSC until it feels confident that it will win. It seems that the first opportunity will be at the next CUOSC AGM in July 2023 when several board members will be at the end of their 3 year terrm in office. The solicitors and accountants of the CUOSC membership will be well aware of any rules that they can use to inhibit the initiators of Unita Fortior from getting onto the CUOSC board.
I am amused by the 'friendly' communications between the CUOSC board members and the initiators of Unita Fortior.
My stance on the current CUOSC board and their would-be successors is this. It is obvious that the moderators of thecumbrians.net and their associates plan to eventually become the total board of CUOSC. The current CUOSC board and their would-be successors are both unfit for such office.
In the event of the CUOSC membership growing to such an extent that it becomes truly representative of the full support of the club I would like this membership to produce candidates of such obvious quality and experience that they would be elected onto the CUOSC board and eventually become the entire CUOSC board.
