Okay...if I was our Notts’ contributor or any other sort of rival fan I’d probably be having a laugh at our manager’s expense over the ‘revelations’ from his Amazon documentary, but in actual fact it seems, superficially at least, that the two best adjectives to describe his admissions are ‘honest’ and ‘brave’.

He won’t be the first (or the last) footballer to be embarrassed by his younger self’s behaviour and it maybe puts him in a better position to understand the younger players of today.

Sometimes I think we forget he’s still only 36...either way...hats off to him for his honesty and at least he hasn’t kicked any cats!

Of course it's amusing. But when I hear things like "his younger self" and "he's only 36". It makes me twitch about what age behaviour is acceptable.

You can smoke at 16/ride a moped
    Drive a car at 17
    Drink / vote at 18.
They want to lower the voting age to 16.
So how old do have to be to do something responsible and not get the piss ripped out of you for it?

The one person I do admire is his wife. She has the patience of a saint, for putting up with a dickhead, who time and again humiliates her and the family.
Most women would have dumped him/cut his balls off years ago.

Silly comment. No one has suggested that the behaviours spoken of came from a thirty six year old Rooney.
He and his wife have known each other since they were kids. He admits he did some stupid stuff. Maybe you were perfect, I know I wasn’t.
My comment about him still being ‘only 36’ was just to provide some perspective...a great many 36 year olds show a lot less maturity than Rooney has over the last year or so...imo.

Don’t even understand your middle paragraph...it makes no sense.

It does if you open your mind. You are given a great deal of adult responsibility from ages 16 up. Rooney never learns. Even now she has had to send him out with a hired minder. Mental age of a child in reality and you call him mature? Married for 14 years with kids. Did your Mrs require a minder to come out with you at 36, because you can't be trusted not to drink yourself into oblivion or shag the local Bowls team?

Actually I haven’t called him ‘mature’. I’ve said, ‘a great many 36 year olds show a lot less maturity’ and I think when you speak of him having the ‘mental age of a child’ you must be confusing him with someone else.

It surprises me, in many ways, that he is still only 36 and frankly...as a 36 year old who’s new to the role of management I think he’s done bloody well and now appears a much more mature individual.

Of course I never got sent out with a ‘minder’ but then I was never a celebrity likely to inspire some degree of hostility from half witted rival fans.

Truth is, you wouldn’t be having a ‘pop’ at him and I wouldn’t care less if he wasn’t our manager...but he is, he appears to have learned from his mistakes and I’ll give him credit for that. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, Captain Perfect.

The Rams will always be more newsworthy than Forest, this is yet another example. Forest have gone from bottom to sixth in four months but they might as well not exist on social media barring their own incestuous circle jerking, it’s ALL about Derby and that’s from fans of all clubs. Still, we could sit tight for the Steve Cooper documentary…

Lol...can’t wait... ‘My Golden Years at Rhyl and Bangor City’!
Tbf...he has done well this season...taking our little rivals to the brink of the play offs. I mean they’ve got a whole seven points and ten goals more than our collection of relative pensioners and ****agers who form a squad that’s been stripped to the bone led by a guy with the ‘mental age of a child’...apparently.

I love the way you manipulated that RA. To think you you accuse me of manipulating facts and points of view.
You have selectively deducted your 21 points from the total.
I will just point out, we had 1 point from 7 games, BEFORE Cooper arrived. Perhaps you'd like to recalculate that again now if you are going to compare Cooper with Rooney.

I will amend my previous statement though. Mental age of a child was wrong. He does have the emotional attitudes of a child though.
A child is every bit as selfish as he is, to those who should mean the most to him.

Give over you sound like a tabloid

Unavoidable truth is that your, admittedly currently successful, manager is a journeyman, ours stands an outside chance of winning an Oscar
