I must admit, I thought the Number 10 role in a 4-2-3-1 would be a dream for a player like Ruben but to my surprise he's had some pretty average games in that position. He seemed happier the other week playing from the left side of a front three. Without doubt he's a very talented player with the ability to grab goals, but still a bit enigmatic when it comes to working out his best position. Earlier in the season he surprised me in a couple of games when we deployed him as a more orthodox central midfielder, because I thought he'd be too lightweight for that role, but he seemed to love scrapping and getting a tackle in. The only problem then was that he had fewer entries into the box.
