The whole situation, from the fans, has been an embarrassment.
Both manager and player have been slated on social media for seemingly nothing.
Prior to Torquay we were on a great run of form, playing a system that doesn’t suit him, so he wasn’t played.
If there was anything more to it, so what. Personnel at football clubs fall out all the time. And if Cal was temporarily frozen out for something he’s done then IB played it very professionally. The point has been made but he’s not been publicly criticised.

Exactly KTD, that's been my view and counterpoint to the rumour mill , gossiping and needless scaremongering all along.

Let me stress I still have no idea what actually happened how much was due to something done by the player in question or how much was down to injury/illness/form of the team at the time. Tbh I didn't care.

If the former then he was disciplined correctly by being frozen out of the first team squad (which didn't extend to the England C call up, that would have been very petty by the club and self defeating) . That's a message to not only the player but the squad as a whole that it won't be tolerated. If that upsets Average Joe on FB or NCM so be it.

I'd understand the fans uproar more if we weren't on an impressive little unbeaten run winning 3 of 4 at the time.

The strangest part in all this was the common attitude I saw of 'We need to know the truth', 'we deserve to know what has happened, why won't the club just tell us'!!? Why? It happens up and down the country at clubs every single season, professional well run clubs keep it in house and deal with it privately. Sir Alex Ferguson and Man United being the prime example.

Some people clearly have a different mentality to things like this in society in general. I blame increased social media and exposure of celebrity. Or maybe they just need a hobby or two.

... storm, teacup, finished. CR and RR were both fined by the players; not IB; not NCFC. FACT

Or maybe it’s just purely opinions and the fact some know the truth
If a player wants to disrespect a club, no matter how good they’re no bigger than the club itself
    So see ya son

Not much to disagree with laddo. We live in age of instant gratification with information and "how dare the club not tell us what is going on". I saw it all over social media on the various Notts FB pages that I read but don't participate in and it was cringe worthy. As you say well run clubs keep it in house. Bear in mind that Roberts said that there was no beef between him and the club not that there was no beef between him and the manager. Good for everyone that he is back in contention scoring goals and can contribute to our probable demise in the play offs!

    Exactly.

IF someone in the squad is out of line then you don't play for a few games. Sounds fair enough to me.

If someone had the full story from a reliable sauce then stating it on here may have stopped all the nonsense and explained to those stirring the pot and gossiping why he wasn't being picked. Regardless whether we were winning games or not during that time.

As QLD said it's cringe worthy stuff in my books but looks like it's all sorted now and he helps fires us to the play offs before we inevitably don't turn up away from home and go out. Thus prompting the usual thread wanting the head coach out, and talk of a big squad clear out needed#dejavu

Should the coach be replaced if we do fail in the playoffs like the majority of us predict?

    Absolutely not imo.

IB has improved the style of play beyond recognition at home and it's a pleasure to watch but and it's a big but....he has to improve our away results and make us harder to beat.

For me that is only going to happen with new signings that compete better physically in midfield and defence, something that can be sorted with the right recruitment. Asa Hall from Torquay is sort I would go after, a beast of player in midfield that can support defending set pieces and can play a little. Balances the team out more to accommodate the likes of Roberts and Nemane.

Unsurprisingly I also think we will fail in playoffs but my answer is also no.

He should be replaced if we didn't make the playoffs as some have suggested in recent months as that would have been unacceptable IMO.
