11 posts and 2 of them should be classed as postive or at least neutral lol. Lets be honest plenty on here clearly really enjoy moaning moaning about their football club.
I too need to go to Specsavers too as Mr Ultra was posting in his usual manner during the game a fair bit but as soon as Cal scored our second goal he went mysteriously (or in his case not) quiet. I could no longer see him, I assume he must have been enjoying those last 10 mins and was in full voice rather than posting on the match thread.
At least post game his mood had changed declaring it a "professional perfomamnce", and confirming that 'a win is a win', that is high praise indeed from Senor EastCoast before quickly firing a warning for our upcoming game.
No I don’t think it does. It’s a message board so what if people want to moan, be positive, give praise, be critical or negative. There are always two extremes and then others in between. Everyone has the right to air their opinions.
As someone who has been on this board for twenty years it’s had all sorts, it takes all sorts and will probably be like it for the next twenty years. It’s a tiny snapshot of the Notts community and is always a vibrant and active board.
Your last paragraph sums it up for me, one thing everyone has in common is their passionate support for Notts otherwise people wouldn’t keep coming back posting on here day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year.
Let’s take Kyle Wootton as an example.
He’s currently on 18 goals for the season, so could easily finish on 20+
At the start of the season, I would say virtually every fan would have said that’s a great season for him.
However in reality, the general discussion regarding Wootton this season has been negative. He doesn’t care, his heads been turned, he can’t score away, he’s undroppable.
We all have a moan from time to time but some of our fans just seem incapable of seeing any positive in any situation.
Yep, Mr Ultra seems to wear his heart on his sleeve and clearly gets disappointed if we go a goal behind. The flip side is a more positive poster who will think we can still win if we are a goal down with 2 minutes to go. Until the ref blows his whistle to end the game, neither are right or wrong. So you either see them as differing personalities and leave it at that, or you choose to take the piss with hindsight when it suits your agenda.
I prefer to see both as differing personalities.
Yes he scores the vast majority of goals in the comfort of the Meadow Lane stadium, and goal shy elsewhere. But when was the last time we had a striker/forward come close to scoring 20 goals in a season? I cant think of anyone since Hughsey smashed it back in the Munto season. 20 goals is impressive for a fox in the box type striker that delivers little else other than goals its even more impressive when he's a hold up, back to goal big lad, do a job for the team, come back to help at corners type forward, even at this lowly level.
I can't think of too many 20 goal strikers we've had in the past 20 years tbh. 3? Maybe 4 at a push?
We get it every club needs a boo boy or 2 to aim criticism at regardless of the team's form, we've had plenty this season but the criticism this year of Woots and the amount has left me baffled at times.
