I've no idea why some posters spend so much time talking about, and even sneering at, other posters.
It's football. Talk to 10 people around you at a game and you'd probably get 10 different views on it. I don't really get to games currently but read the opinions on here, positive and negative. They're all valid, just opinions.
Plus, people have other stuff going on in their lives and that can impact how they post. I've definitely been arsier on here when other difficulties have been going on, we're probably all the same in that.
Cheltenham summed everything really well in his/her earlier post regarding the mindset of many supporters.

Also any consistently decent players from the league below must be on our scouting list. I'm really interested to see how our recruitment will be this summer.
We've got a fairly balanced squad, most are a decent age, most of our signings have done well, not many are out of contract I believe, and some will be targets for other clubs. For me it's been really refreshing to have a stable club for once, and not be talking about overhauling the squad or clearing out so much deadwood.

If Notts are doing badly, but Fword are doing badly as well, I'm a lot less negative about the club. There's a sizeable percentage who don't care, but for me local football rivalry is a huge factor in what keeps me interested in the game. They're probably always going to be out of our reach from here on in, but there's always that remote possibility they might do a Derby/Portsmouth at some point. At the moment though I feel like giving up once and for all, I don't think the situation has ever looked so hopeless for Notts as it does now.
The extra support we picked up under Munto and Hardy is keeping the club alive, though whether or not that will sustain in the face of Fword going into the PL whilst Notts stay in tier 5 (which seems the most likely scenario to this season at present) remains to be seen.
