    Freiser was good last season.

Didn’t like Thiam - but he was brought in while the system was getting started.
Ritzmair was brought in by Struber
And Benson was brought in by Conway - but there is a good player there.

But there is a point to fans disappointment in recruitment - and I think this has come about because of the influence of Conway - as a scatter gun approach has been added to the statistical formula.
That is to say - use stats but bring in as many young kids as possible.
Then get them in the shop window and hopefully one will sell for big money.

Previous to this, just a few players were brought in each season.
The system needs to get back to doing just that.
    Fewer recruits with higher potential.

There’s positives that need to be maintained - bringing in players and head coaches that play the same high press system - so as players and head coaches leave the club, others can be brought in that slot straight in.
It’s important that this sort of continuity is maintained.

We should not go back to throwing the baby out with the bath water every time a new head coach is appointed.

To add to that - we should maintain the policy of not signing any loans unless it’s a one off eg a premier player with leadership qualities (eg Molby) or it is a young player with a view to a permanent deal eg Vita.
The facts are that this summer is crucial to the short to mid term future of this club .

The facts are there's very little cash currently in the business .

Which by definition means there isn't any room for mistakes , they have to get this summer right both bringing in a new manager / head coach .

There needs to be fundamental change from the past to ensure the errors are kept to an absolute minimum .

Lee , Conway and Hung may have gone but they haven't taken our problems with them and just because Jean Cryne and Julie Ann Quarry have rode in on a white horse doesn't mean unless there is significant change they won't fail either .

Data and analytics have there place and I've no problem James identify targets although why anyone would need to analyse data on Stoke's right back Tommy Smith who they have released and available for nowt is anyone's guess .

The club needs a bloke like Luton have in Mick Harford who works with the analytics team at Kenilworth Road but then goes and looks at the player probably several times and he then reports back to Nathan Jones and the decision is made whether to bid for him .

All the areas of the club working together , belt and braces with two football people making the final decision .

They don't seem to be doing too bad on just over half the wage bill of ourselves .

At this moment in time all the club have rearranged some deck chairs .

Let's hope fundamental change including the ridiculous age constraint is coming along with the new deck chair arrangement .

I think you are correct Florida - but not a bad prediction from Perky on what sort of team we could be seeing.

Cannot see us renewing Halme contract he is constantly injured which is a pity for him and certainly for Barnsley not a luxury we can afford.

Ade cannot even see him getting into double goal figures in League 1 even in a winning team.

Just to add about Mick Harford , he came up to look at our then Matty Pearson , a very ordinary right back who didn't do too well here .

Mick Harford didn't see a struggling right back he saw a centre back and a leader .

Had some good years out of Matty Pearson did Luton and he's done very well at Huddersfield Town this season too .

There isn't any analytic data ever going to tell you what Mick Harford saw in Matty Pearson because he proved it when they took him from us .

James Cryne's data spotted Accrington Stanley's right back Matty Pearson in 2017 .

Mick Harford's miles on the motorway and a football brain made him a player .

Ive said on here before that I rate both Halme and Thomas. But neither have been able to give us 100% have they, for various reasons.

Remember Halme went up front on a few occasions and scored a few late goals, in the Struber escape act season. He also did the holding shoring up role in midfield as well, and this can be useful if your a bit of a utility player. Sadly though, hes another who has been very injury prone, and I suppose that has to be taken into consideration.
I thought Thomas started well for us, and he got the goal on that opening day against Fulham, and he set up a few as well. But then he went very inconsistent after that and disappeared in most games.
So whats the answer.. I an't gorra scooby doo. 😅

I actually think there's a player in Luke Thomas too if he can get over his problems .

The criticism with Luke at least in my opinion is actually not his fault .

We paid way way too much for the lad , he was £400k tops , certainly not a million quid .

    Undervalued talent ???

    Hmmmm !!!

I think he did play at left back a few times Chop but certainly not centre back where he's excelled .

Speaking of players who had it, but just din't show it often enough for us.. Malik Wilkes.
What on earth went wrong there ?. To me it looked like he had a fall out with one or two, and we couldn't wait to get rid eventually.

Again the analytics kicked in but even I knew the lad could have a problematic attitude , it was all over the Yorkshire Post in a Leeds court room .

Even without that , a bit of talking to people and it would have revealed that Malik Wilks grew up within a tough environment and witnessed his brother shot to death when a drug deal went wrong .

    Analytics didn't spot that one !!!! .
