Nowt against this Cheltenham manager but personally I'd go for Nigel Clough. He'd steady the ship and then some

    He looks a tough bleeder.
    Resembles a paler Ismael.

I think Hecky will end up back at Barnsley - if not next season then possibly the season after.

The Sheff U team is old so there will be big changes to make next season.
I can’t see the Sheffield crowd allowing Hecky time to sort things out.
They demand - and especially after this season - instant success.
So if they are not in the top 6 by December then he’ll go.

Add to that - the Cryne family always seemed to like Hecky - then any opportunity he will be back here.

I am not sure how you can come to that conclusion, he has done very well at Cheltenham having had a very good career as a player , because a young promising coach has done his apprenticeship in the lower leagues does not make him another Keith Hill , Hill moved to us & failed & until Duff has actually moved on to another club then he cannot be judged or compared to anyone . I would welcome him here , he knows the league & knows the players at this level , the fact that we would have to pay compensation to get him shows intent from the new look board .

Fair points… I initially thought I’d prefer someone with a lo experience, but Danny Wilson and a few more have done well in their early careers.. so maybe I’m harsh here
