I didn’t think that it was allowed to sign anyone before the transfer window opens? As I read it, no matter what you do before the window opens, another club can come in and sign that player. Perhaps if he becomes a free agent before the transfer window opens it may be ok but I’ll only believe it’s a done deal if he’s with us after June 11th.

We can sign pre-contract agreements at some point before the contract ends. Foreign clubs can sign a deal on English based players 6 months before the contract ends but it’s less English to English.

I mentioned him a while back as a good free available transfer, but I am always wary when a player is in his last year and plays out of his skin to secure a contract elsewhere.

Mowatt last year was the same.

Tom Lawrence at Direby also decided to play after Christmas knowing he was out of contract.

Having said all that I wish Swifty all the luck in the world and pray that he is the AM we are missing and he helps fire us to promotion.

I wish that we would add Scott Twine and Jed Wallace to our squad, preferably by selling Diangana, Grant and Robinson to fund it. Wishful thinking, though, I’m afraid.
