I'm not saying it is, but if we signed TAR as our starting wing back, we may have made an error in judgement. DKE looked better from what I've seen of TAR and I wasn't a massive fan of DKE but also DKE wasn't our starting right back last season, so have we gone backwards?

We have had good pre seasons and been relegated, poor pre seasons and been promoted. Means nothing until the league starts.

Tis true when I was 16 in a public house in Oxford a wise old man (village drunk?) told me the very same thing about his local team.

I remember us beating a West Ham team that had Di Canio, Kanoute, David James, Trevor Sinclair etc…
It went on to be a diabolical season!

I haven’t seen anyone getting carried away with wins over Basford, Leicester u23s (with the odd first teamer) and Alfreton. They have been games that have served a purpose in getting minutes in to the legs and players used to playing with each other.
We have some tougher games that will test the defensive shape of the side coming up as well as the clinical side of our attacking play.
Talk of shape and how the team is looking is a mute point as I don’t think LW knows his strongest 11, and if we were guessing at it, I’m sure there would be many permutations.
All in all, the friendlies are going to plan in terms of fitness and not picking up injuries IMO. Touch wood that continues.
