I was thinking that maybe it was like Shearer when he chose club over money but he’s a young lad and had plenty of time to play for PSG later in his career.
I also think he’s made a mistake and gone for the money. Far better to go to a club where he will actually play and the top clubs can see him develop.
I think he’s chosen money over football (not uncommon these days) and, in that case, not a player for our club.

Interesting that he's gone on loan to PSG with an option for them to buy:

If he doesn't get enough game time and impress he could end up back at Reims who would would miss out on a transfer fee of at least £25 million which is alot of money for them

All of that drama is clearly not the answer for us. Above all, the player has to want to come and that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Let's focus on players that are keen to come and work instead of picking up a paycheck to watch from a Recaro seat while Messi and Neymar run around.

He said this in an interview today about why he decided to go to PSG:

“It is the choice of the heart! I’m French too, it’s the club of my homeland, of my country. And then it’s a club where the greatest players evolve, where there is a quality and experienced staff, the desire to win all the titles in all competitions. There is everything here for me to progress,” Ekitike said.

“All the ingredients are there, so it’s a logical choice for me to be here. Finally, I myself have family in the Paris region, and I have always followed Paris Saint-Germain.

“All this made my desire to join this club very natural. It’s the right choice for me to be here!”

I think he might regret it, especially if he hardly plays and we win the Champions League before PSG who have spent fortunes trying to win it during the last decade

Well, he wouldn’t say he went for the money, would he?

Bit like Mbappe who said money wasn’t talked about in his decision to stay at PSG.

    Right, yeah.
