Should of negotiated with the club whilst the player decided if he would join. Could, not would, have helped. But there you go. Said that at the time although I get the other side of pointless negotiating if he wasn't interested. But once we gaged he could be, it would of been smart, imo.

Okay okay. I haven't see that claim that we had agreed a deal with them. All I've seen through various people is that the finances were the difference (presumably the wage percentage, what else could it be?). So that doesn't tie in with what you've seen. Who knows what the truth is but potentially Watford have renaged on the deal. Surely if one is offering more, the loan club feel they have the right (probably do but a bit of a d1ckhead move, business though) to then go back to the other team and say no. I can't see them letting him choose when one is offering so much more. But they may have, I don't know.

I think we need to stop slagging each other off, just because we have a different opinion or a different take on a situation. I think we are all disappointed that we have done all the work again to identify a player and get a deal ready for another club to steal the player at the death, I suspect we all feel a little sorry for all those that have worked hard on the deal and especially PW, who put his chin out yesterday only for his "dreamboy" to slap him hard across it. If the lads we do have that want to wear that shirt and want to play for the manager, do their job tomorrow and we get 3 points then we will all feel a little better. Eaves is close to coming back, JJ will be better this year and we have built a good experienced backline, so chins up

There are other considerations eg what agents want as well. That can hold things up and change things. Some players may tell their agents to bollax but some might not.

With loans i can think of many considerations
    1. Do the parent club want their club to come here?
    2. Does the player want to come here?
    3. What are the players future plans is he looking at a loan move witjh a view to staying after it
4.what cut does the agent want?
    5. How much does the parent club want us to contribute to the players wages?

They are 5 points off the top of my head.
With regard to fletcher i would guess

    1. Not arsed one way or other
    2. Prob not
    3. Wunt want to stay here likely to go down
    4. Agents cut too hefty
    5. More than we could afford

At risk of it sounding like sour grapes

    Fletcher?

Wouldn’t have been impressed if we had landed him

Sign somebody with potential that we can nurture

I stand by my comment from the other day. TS is a charlatan. He has no intention of backing the manager to give us an outside chance. This will be proven again in January when we are holding our own but just need a few extra bodies to keep us up. Time for TS to cut the BS and give Warne the tools to complete the job.
This is the second loan player who has agreed to come here only for us to be gazumped due to the percentage of wages we will pay. Smallbone the lad who went to Stoke was in the building and because they agreed to pay more to Southampton off they went back down the M1. I get it's his trains set but I think it's time to let someone else help him to play with it correctly.
