In terms of stature, they are light years behind DCFC in players and facilities.
You play to your strengths and whats in front of you.
They played for a draw, got it and were very happy. You had 2/3 rds of the pocession and 4 times the amount of shots.
I'd have been very happy as well, in their shoes.
You can talk about floodgates, but you cost yourselves those 2 points, not them.
No. You hang on. 11v11. They've been together a lot longer than we have. Was I disparaging of Fleetwood? No. Their keeper was brilliant as I explained in the post to which you replied. Of course they were happy. So would I have been, in fact, I was last season when WBA tore us a new one and did everything but score. If you wish to persist posting on the DCFC board, just maybe, for once, you should read what's written and take that on board rather than give it a twist that isn't there. Not literally, not figuratively. If you can't do that simple thing then maybe you might like to return to the NFFC board and stay there. Do us all a favour and take your biased claptrap elsewhere.

Hardly annoying! I remember the last prem season, home or away there weren't many goals scored, though plenty conceded. We are creating chances, they are just not going in, that should be an easier fix than a defence thats leaking goals which we aren't. I'm sure we will get there its still August FFS!!

Time to worry is when you aren't creating chances. We are, so I'm not. We have enough players who know where the back of the onion bag is. It'll come and, when it does, we could well go on an incredible run.

We'd have been 1-0 up and the floodgates would have opened
Sorry, but no. Lines like this put you firmly in the we score and romp it camp?
You are simply guessing, they may have changed their plan and your goal rush may never have happened.
It was a borderline DCFCA comment

Regretfully gotta agree, 'chances' mean nothing, and its a failed argument, when we rejoice in games where we get one chance and score, likwise a rejuvenated Fleetwood might have overrun us. Ifs and buts dont count, goals do. Just IMO

Worry not, MA....keep posting. Our lack of goals is an obvious disappointment, but the two most relevant comments so far are, ‘it’s August’ and ‘time to worry is when we’re not creating chances’.

not sure what’s prompted that MA I think your opinion on such things are respected by all, we can disagree though and I at least may well be wrong.

As rA says, MA, keep posting your opinions as well, of course, as the many facts that you bring to the discussion! Any Forum is a mix of fact, opinion and, of course, a smattering of crap.
My opinion, for what it's worth is that creating chances, whilst obviously somewhat important, does not always ultimately result in an improvement in the conversion rate. Personally, I'm not convinced that it will in our case. Why?? Well it just seems to me that, firstly, the slow build up takes away much of the impact of the attack which allows the defenders to 'defend' more easily. Secondly, it tends to lead to 'half chances' which players 'snatch' at so that even when a clear cut chance does emerge they still 'snatch' at it! This then tends to lead to a build up of tension over a number of games which only aggravates the problem. In both scenarios what might be termed 'natural' goal scorers will, inevitably, have a higher success rate and this will in turn, ease that tension. I don't see a 'natural' goal scorer in our squad even at this level!
I am pleased to see that we are putting more crosses into the box and that will help but it's still too slow in the build up. I've watched a number of PL highlights this weekend and I noticed that there was a significant amount of long balls played, yes they are more skilled and therefore more likely to be accurate, but the effectiveness was very evident. Even Man City used the tactic and direct from the keeper as well. One half decent long ball will often rattle defenders very quickly and can give attackers a little bit of room to work. That might help in our case.
Anyway, it's just my opinion of course!! 😉

    Just to clarify my comments....

We get one early doors and they can't sit back with all 11 players in and around their own box. They will have to be a little more adventurous. That will create space in and around their box and back line which players with the speed of Dobbin, NML and Barkhuizen can use to either their personal advantage or to set up a teammate like Sibs or Hourihane...... all based on what tends to happen in football rather than a figment of my imagination. No guarantees, agreed, but more often than not it goes that way. Percentages.
